Otherwise, you would know that the movie is very loosely based from the book. It is no "film adaptation" by any means, it's simply it's own movie that borrowed ideas from the source material. Half of it was gone, and the ending left out the biggest part of the science vs. religion! A priest who is a product of science, destroying science..thats the whole story, and the left it out?
